2 Day / 1 Night Orangutan Jungle Trek, Bukit Lawang

Day 1 – Jungle Trekking & overnight in the jungle

  • 08:30 AM – Pick Up Our guide will pick you up from your hotel or guesthouse in Bukit Lawang village.

  • 08:50 AM – Briefing: We will meet at our Bukit Lawang Orangutan Tour meeting point for a short briefing on the trekking program and safety rules within Gunung Leuser National Park.

  • 09:00 AM – Start the Jungle Trek. After the briefing, we start the jungle trekking adventure. The trail leads us into the rainforest where we will search for Sumatran orangutans and other wildlife. During the trek, our guide will explain about the rainforest ecosystem, wildlife, and jungle plants used by local people as traditional medicine. Around midday, we will stop for a break while enjoying fresh tropical fruits prepared by the guide. After lunch, the trek continues deeper into the jungle until we reach our riverside campsite. At the campsite, you can relax, swim in the river, or enjoy the peaceful jungle atmosphere. In the evening, our guide will prepare a delicious traditional jungle dinner. Overnight stay at the jungle campsite.

Day 2 – Jungle Walk & River Tubing

  • Wake up to the sounds of the rainforest and enjoy breakfast prepared by our guide. After breakfast, we continue a short morning trek through the jungle,e where you may have another opportunity to see wildlife. Late in the morning, ng we return to the river to start the exciting river tubing activity. Using large rubber tubes tied together, we float down the Bahorok River while enjoying beautiful rainforest scenery. This activity is one of the most enjoyable parts of the jungle trek. The river tubing ends back in Bukit Lawang village, usually around 2:00 – 3:00 PM, near your accommodation. ( Tour End )

Minimum booking: 2 persons

Please note: This price follows the standard agreement of the Indonesian Tourist Guide Association (HPI) and the local guide community in Bukit Lawang.
